Pursue Your Dreams! Follow Your Heart!

So, I did a thing!! I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided it was time for a change. Time to follow my heart and pursue a career that will allow me to do something I’m passionate about!

A few months ago, I took a leap of faith and started personal training courses. It was a long 10 weeks. There was a ton of reading, a LOT of big words, and many many hours spent on homework and studies. I did it though!

Why do I want to be a CPT? Yes, there’s the weight lifting/being active part of it, but personal training is SO MUCH MORE! It’s mental and emotional at times! I get to help people like me. I want to help those who may struggle with insecurities, their own personal doubts, and confidence – daily life, strength, or both. I want to help people overcome obstacles and see the best in themselves! I will help them through support, encouragement, and guidance!

I’ll still be working at Invisible Fence, but at some point I’ll start scaling back my hours, hopefully due to a growing clientele base. I’m thinking roughly 9 months before I go anywhere. I’m thankful to have amazing leaders like Brad and Shelly who are supportive and understanding. I’ve been with them for 12 years. It’s been a great ride, but I’ve felt like the end of the road has been close for awhile now.

My next step is the nutrition program and then at some point I’d like to get into life coaching. One thing at a time though!! 😄

I’d like to give a huge shoutout to my personal trainer, Kimber, for her encouragement and support over the past year! She’s been a huge inspiration in my decision and throughout the study process! Thanks, girl!! I appreciate you and your sweet dance moves so very much!! ❤️❤️❤️

Food Prep is Key!

Why do I food prep?

Well, it’s important to me and I enjoy it, but my main four reasons for prepping are:

  • It keeps me on track – no greasy fast food or dinning out but most importantly, no impulse eating.
  • It makes tracking my macros easy – I know what’s in each serving and how much I can have.
  • It’s easy on the wallet – no overspending on meals.
  • It’s grab and GO – I don’t have to come home after a long day and cook or clean up. I can throw a tasty, healthy lunch bag for work together in the AM.

This weeks prep!! EEK! I’m so excited!

Sweet Potato Breakfast Hash

High Protein (Bison burger) Pasta Bake

Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice

Roasted veggies per usual because I love them SO much!

I also made my mini Caprese salads and Turkey Protein boxes again, and cut up plenty of fruit!

I’m ready for the week! Come on warmer temps and sunshine! ☀️

Nailed it! No, Like really!

Some weeks I NAIL my food prep and some weeks I’m just kind of like “Eh, that’ll do!” This week I nailed it! I’m so excited! I prepped two different meals from the “Everything Macros” cookbook.

I used turkey sausage instead of chicken sausage (that’s what the recipe called for) in the butternut squash/apple meal. Butternut squash is new to me, and it’s pretty good! I’m pretty proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone!

For the sirloin kabobs, I added some extra veggies, the recipe only called for broccoli. Next time, yes I’ll definitely be making these again, I’ll precook the onions. They needed more cook time.

I also made up some little caprese salads to go, and roasted some sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts. I’ll grab the balsamic vinaigrette and add roughly a tablespoon when it’s time.

Each week I make roasted veggies of some sort! I always find myself leaning towards brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes! Why? Because they are so great for you and they taste delish! Sprinkle a little basil, sea salt, pepper, and EVOO, and 25 minutes in the oven and you’re good to go!

I’m extremely excited about my little turkey snack box. It was also from the cookbook! It’s healthy, colorful, and protein packed! Yes, I had to Google “How to boil an egg.” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Each week is a learning experience for me –
What tastes good?
What is working for me?
What isn’t working for me?
Was this easy to prep or more time consuming?
If it’s time consuming, was it worth it?

I’m learning and that’s exciting! They aren’t always perfect. It’s usually trial and error, but with time, I’ll get where I want to be!
